Grain Drying & Aeration

While central outdoor wood and coal furnaces provide a positive pay-back for many individual homes, the economic viability of one central furnace is even better on the farm. Especially when it is being used to supply the heat required to dry grain, either with aeration and/or the grain dryer.

The Desert Air Grain Aeration System utilizes a special high efficiency water to air heat exchanger with deep fins for more efficient heat transfer. This design does not significantly restrict air flow or affect the performance of your aeration fan. With no combustion near the grain, there is less risk of fire and because the drying temperatures are generally lower than open flame systems. There is less risk of damaging grain for seed or malting markets. Each Desert Air comes complete with an automatic plenum temperature control and mixing pump.
