'Polar Guard' Ground Thaw

Heating Solutions for the Construction Site

Concrete work in winter can be expensive. Not only is there a cost to setting up the hording, there's also the high cost of heating the poorly insulated structure. Today there's a better, more cost effective way to pour concrete in winter.

The 'Polar Guard' Ground Thaw System

The POLAR GUARD will thaw up to 6,000 square feet at a time. This is accomplished by pumping a propylene glycol heat transfer fluid through a high heat rubber hose that is placed on the frozen ground at 18 inches spacing and covered with an insulated tarp. This radiates dryheat into the ground rather than other inefficient ground thaw methods which add moisture using fan forced propane or natural gas furnaces.

The 'Polar Guard' Ground thaw unit utilizes Raypak's low mass, high recovery, modern copper finned tube boiler. The enclosed Raypak contains stainless steel burners for superior corrosion resistance and a longer lasting life. The 100% copper and bronze heat exchanger is also standard equipment. The Raypak (385,000 btu / hr input) boiler comes equipped with a unique gas modulation system. This gas modulation will eliminate inefficient short cycling and permit efficient use on big and small jobs.

The POLAR GUARD comes equipped with a stainless steel expansion tank and a 12 loop copper manifold complete with valves to accommodate a diversity of job sizes.
